    手足口病（Hand, foot and mouth disease, HFMD）是由肠道病毒引起的传染病，多发生于婴幼儿及学龄前的儿童，在幼儿园和托儿所可以集体感染，可引起手、足、口腔等部位的疱疹，有些孩子还可以引起心肌炎、肺水肿、无菌性脑膜脑炎等并发症。它的潜伏期为2～7天，患病的孩子是主要传染源。他们在发病急性期可从咽部排出病毒；疱疹液中含大量病毒，破溃时病毒溢出；病后数周仍可自从粪便中排出病毒。

    这种病传播方式多种多样，主要是密切接触传播为主。病毒可通过唾液、疱疹液、粪便等污染的手、毛巾、手绢、牙杯、玩具、食具、奶具以及床上用品、内衣等引起间接接触传播；患者咽喉分泌物及唾液中的病毒可通过空气飞沫传播；在医院的门诊交叉感染和口腔器械消毒不合格也可以造成传染。一般急性发病，发热；口腔粘膜出现散在疱疹，米粒大小，疼痛明显；手掌或脚掌部出现米粒大小疱疹，臀部或膝盖偶可受累。疱疹周围有炎性红晕，疱内液体较少。部分患儿可伴有咳嗽、流涕、食欲不振、恶心、呕吐、头疼等症状。该病为自限性疾病，多数预后良好，不留后遗症。极少数患儿可引起脑膜炎、脑炎、心肌炎、弛缓性麻痹、肺水肿等严重并发症。

    任何疾病都要重在预防，最重要的是养成饭前便后、饭后便前认真洗手，包括孩子和大人，大人在动孩子的一切物品之前都应洗净双手，这样就可以防止“病从口入”。人的一只手上大约有40多万个细菌病毒，有些人还没事就挖鼻孔，揉眼睛，都会把细菌病毒带到各处，引起疾病。每个孩子应有他自己固定的毛巾、水碗、手绢，不和大人共用。

    注意口腔卫生，养成早晚刷牙的习惯，饭后可用淡盐水漱口。这样可以减少细菌病毒在口腔繁殖以致造成感染。

    尽量减少到人多的公共场所，减少被感染机会；不要一点小病或不适就到儿童医院，哪里是各种疾病、传染病的集聚地，当孩子稍有不适时正是抵抗力低下的时候，在这里就极易被传染上其他疾病。

    平时注意婴幼儿的营养，少吃大鱼大肉，多吃新鲜蔬菜和水果，注意休息，让孩子有足够的睡眠；要多活动，多晒太阳，但避免日光曝晒,防止过度疲劳，这样就可以增加自身机体抵抗力和免疫力。
